Growing up in Mt. Pleasant, PA, Cynthia lived behind Samer's Candyland, a corner institution in Mt. Pleasant where sodas and candy were sold from their opening in 1920 to their closing in 2001. From the age of five, if Mrs. Fornal wasn't sure where Cynthia was off to, her first call was to Samer's Candyland to see if she was hanging out there and to please send her home for supper. The store changed owners after Mr. Samer's passing in 1971 and again over the years, but Cynthia never forgot the delightful chocolates and other goodies Mr. Samer's and his wife made at Candyland. As a teenager hanging out in their store, she would talk with her friends, but was keeping a sharp eye on the process they perfected. Since moving to Georgia, Cynthia has used some of the same tried and true recipes to create decadent gourmet chocolate for customers near and far with her own special twist.
We hope you will come to appreciate the history, love, and care that goes into making each delectable morsel shipped the U.S. over under the name Cynfulies Chocolates.
